The Need to Give, Everyone Can Give

Ms. Rita arrived from the Salesian Provincial office to do awareness on the spirit of charity in line with fundraising. She spoke to teachers, staffs, and students of DBTI Henderson and Tetere, but also to different youth. In her message, she highlighted that “Charity is to give others which belongs to you. When you give to charity, you experience happiness.” To help other is not only giving money. She insisted to the youth participating that when one sees people who are in need of help, even just a hand could heal it all. It is not on how much we give, but how much love we put into giving. And also there’s link between helping others and finding meaning in your life. Helping others can actually create a sense of meaning in our lives. Many students caught the idea of what should be done.

Don Bosco

Don Bosco was creative, enthusiastic and enterprising in his work. He wrote and edited booklets, school texts, histories, digests, magazines, fliers, plays. From his earliest years as a priest, Don Bosco communicated through his whole demeanour and person, through games, talking, visiting, preaching, and publishing. Communicating through the internet and publishing is a priority for Salesians. Inspired by this example of Don Bosco and the early Salesians, Social Communication continues an important priority.
