Jan 30, 2020 – Rapolo When Saint John Bosco used to meet young people who were interested to become Salesians he would invite them to stay with him in his Oratory in Valdocco. This year 5 young men have been accepted to start Valdocco Experience – a full year of direct experience of Salesian life and educational activities in Don Bosco Rapolo in view of discerning their interest to become Salesians
Fr. Provincial visits PGS Formands in the Philippines
Currently there are 4 formands in Lawaan, Philippines from PNG (2 novices and the 2 college aspirants). Last Dec 21-23, 2019, Fr. Alfred Maravilla, Provincial, visited them to spent time to talk personally with each one as well as with the Novice Director, the Aspirantate Rector and the formation guides. It was also an opportunity to celebrate together the approaching feast of Christmas.
Gabutu, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea 22 November 2019 It was a heartfelt and joyous moment for Don Bosco Technical School in Gabutu as it graduated 92 Grade Twelve and 163 Industrial Training Course 2 students during its 22nd Speech Day. Rapolo, East New Britain Province, PNG – The ‘Valdocco experience’ is a year long programme for young men who show some interest in the Salesian life at Don Bosco Technical Secondary School. By having a direct experience of Salesian pastoral ministry, accompaniment, and personality development sessions candidates are helped to clarify their initial interest in Salesian life. At the end of November these 9 young men will decide if they will apply to join the Salesian Aspirantate.

Prayers for deceased Members of the Salesian Family
Nov 2, 2019 – Representatives of the Salesian Family in Port Moresby gathered in the Chapel of the Shrine, by now a traditional practice, for the Eucharist in suffrage for the souls of the deceased members of the Salesian Family. This was followed by the recitation of the rosary which concluded at the Salesian Memorial which contains the remains of Fr. Joseph Savina SDB and Sr. Martina Chang SCG. May they rest in the peace of Christ!
